Public version history for Eldran legal and policy documents
1. Purpose of this page
Eldran Academic Press uses this page to record material changes to its public legal and governance documents. The aim is to make it easier for authors, reviewers, editors, readers and other users to understand when important terms or data practices change without requiring them to compare entire documents line by line.
2. What counts as a material change
A material change is a revision that meaningfully affects rights, responsibilities, data use, licensing, fees, editorial process, complaint routes, or other substantive expectations. Examples include a new lawful basis for processing, a significant new category of data sharing, a change to article licensing, a revised dispute process, or a new category of chargeable service.
Minor typography corrections, broken-link repairs, formatting changes, clearer wording that does not alter meaning, and routine contact-detail updates may be made without a separate detailed entry, although the document’s “last updated” date may change where appropriate.

4. Current policy library
The HTML page is the primary public version of each policy. The downloadable document must contain the same substantive policy text, version information and visible external links.

5. Future change entries
Future entries should state the effective date, affected document, new version number, and a short plain-language description of the change. Where a change requires renewed consent, acceptance or direct notice, the Summary of Changes does not replace that requirement.
6. Archived versions
Eldran should retain prior versions of material legal policies for internal audit and dispute-resolution purposes. Where practicable, superseded public versions may be made available on request or through an archive page, particularly where a user needs to determine which terms applied at a particular time.
7. Publication versioning and communication
For ordinary policy updates, the new version and effective date will be posted on the relevant page and summarised here. Where a change is materially unexpected or affects an existing contractual or privacy relationship, Eldran may also provide account, email or in-platform notice before the change takes effect. Eldran maintains one authoritative source for each policy. A substantive revision requires the approved source, HTML page and downloadable document to be updated together, with the version and date shown consistently and the change recorded on this page. PDFs should be regenerated from the approved source rather than edited separately.
